High demands on our products and our work
Nature knows best what is good. A food should therefore be as pure and natural as possible. Its pure, authentic taste and nutrients will only be preserved if it does not contain any artificial additives.
That’s exactly why we exclusively offer our customers carefully processed products, which are produced without any colourings, flavourings, flavour enhancers or artificial ingredients.
We are always searching for the exceptional, the extremely good. Relishing food is our passion. Last but not least, we ensure our products are presented attractively, as for us a customer already starts to relish their food as soon as they look at it.
Our Herr Edelmann products are very good value for money. We offer them at very favourable, attractive prices for their high quality. We want to be the best in our price segment.
We focus primarily on naturalness and quality when developing a product. We make our products in the way we think is best and as we would like to relish them ourselves. What is out of the question for us is compromising on quality just to allow for an even more favourable price. This also means that we sometimes do not launch a product if we cannot achieve a fair market price on the shelf, however good it may be.
We are able to realise our favourable, attractive prices because we have a lean structure and do not operate our own production facilities. Instead, we have long-standing and close partnerships with producers who are experts in their field and who guarantee us consistent, reliable quality. Our partner companies are located in Italy, Greece and the Balkans, where most of our main ingredients are grown and processed fresh on site.
We make sure that we treat everyone involved, our employees as well as our partners’ employees, fairly in everything we do. We have known our partner companies, all of them modern and experienced owner-managed family businesses, for a long time, and we visit them regularly because the conditions under which a product is created are important to us. We are IFS Broker certified and only work with IFS certified producers.
We work respectably and very reliably and see ourselves as partners to food producers and the retail market. We are in active dialogue with both. Our principles are based on the “honourable merchant” as our role model.
This is embodied by Herr Edelmann.
BERND HUBERTI
Bernd Huberti manages the family business, founded in 1908 by his great-grandfather, in the fourth generation. The business economist is active in the company since more than 25 years and directs it, as its Managing Director, since 1993. Prior to completing his extra-occupational studies in business administration, he completed vocational training as a wholesale and foreign trade merchant in a large German trading company. He completed numerous internships in food processing companies and a further education at the food institute KIN in Neumünster, in order to also acquire a profound understanding from the production perspective.
Profound market knowledge, close contacts with manufacturers and the realisation that his favourite products were not available in the German market have prompted Huberti to bring own products onto the market. Under the brand Herr Edelmann, there is now an attractive assortment of olives, chillies and chilli peppers, mushrooms, fruits, (half-)dried tomatoes as well as Mediterranean specialties such as ajvar, djuvec and pestos. All of this is of high quality and as natural as possible.
